Welcome, I am Ethan Bailey Brown

I have always had a passion for working with kids, however, over the course of my time as a student at Hobart and William Smith I have worked extensively with youth who have, often times, been designated as "trouble makers" or "bad kids". I have discovered a deep passion and love for this population of youth and, in part because of my time spent working with Youth Advocate Programs of Wayne County, I want my life to be spent advocating and fighting for those youth who so many others have written off.

Leadership Philosophy
Lead by example with passion and care for all those around you. Above all else, a leader find the one with the most marginalized voices and listens to them, for they are the ones with the most insight.

Course Work

During my time at Hobart and William Smith Colleges I studied a wide arrange of topics, however, my focus during my studies has been on education and more specifically educating students who have emotional or behavioral disabilities, those who have experienced trauma, and students involved in the justice system. I have gained valuable skills and knowledge in how to work one on one with exactly these types of youth through different internships and service learning opportunities I have taken place in. The type of leader I hope to become is one who always looks for those who are being pushed to the side in a given space and seeks them out to hear their voice and perspective of the space.
